Opeth

Opeth es una banda de death metal progresivo sueca formada en 1990 por su compositor principal: Mikael Åkerfeldt.
Posee en sus composiciones influencias del rock progresivo, jazz, blues y de guitarras acústicas de corte clásico y folk2 , más notorias en su álbum Blackwater Park (2001), 3 y Ghost Reveries (2005).4 Además, también se aprecia una evidente influencia del death metal, especialmente en la manera de cantar de su vocalista, Mikael Åkerfeldt, y de doom metal dada la ambientación y velocidad de algunos de sus temas.
Desde la grabación de su primer disco, han lanzado 8 álbumes de estudio, dos DVD, dos box sets, tres singles y dos álbumes en vivo. Una completa excepción de su estilo musical es el álbum Damnation (2003) que muestra un estilo absolutamente orientado hacia el rock progresivo.

Iced Earth

Iced Earth es una banda de power metal. Fue fundada en la ciudad de Tampa (Florida, EE.UU.) en 1984
La figura central de Iced Earth es el guitarrista y compositor Jon Schaffer En un primer momento, Schaffer formó la banda bajo el nombre de Purgatory mientras vivía en Columbus (Indiana), pero cuando se mudó a Florida se vio obligado a cambiar el nombre de la banda debido a que otro grupo de la zona se llamaba igual. Fue entonces cuando renombró a la banda Iced Earth, en honor a un amigo suyo que murió en un accidente de moto. Más tarde escribiría la canción "Watching Over Me" en memoria de dicho amigo.

Manowar

Manowar es un grupo estadounidense de heavy metal y power metal originario de Auburn, Nueva York. Fundado en 1979, son muy reconocidos por sus letras dedicadas al heavy metal como concepto, a las motocicletas y en ocasiones hasta al género femenino, abarcando también temas épicos y mitológicos (mitología nórdica principalmente).
Son conocidos por romper el récord Guiness de la banda con el sonido más potente del mundo en más de una ocasion, y además dieron el concierto de heavy metal más largo de la historia, que duró 5 horas y 10 minutos en Bulgaria, en 2008.2
La banda ha vendido alrededor de 10 millones de álbumes en todo el mundo, abanderados de lo que ellos definen como true metal, inspirado sobre todo en la fuerza de las composiciones del músico alemán Richard Wagner.
